Sansha Taisai Festival – Huge Ornate Japanese Floats 八戸三社大祭
Sansha Taisai is a Japanese summer festival in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture in the Tohoku region which has highly ornate floats that expand and contract and shoot jets of steams. The floats depict scenes from history and legend of Japan and China.
On August 2nd in the afternoon they have a kind of polo lacrosse event known as Kiba Dakyu of Kagami style. In the evening they have the float parade.
The festival runs from July 31-August 4th.
